Besides playing in bands since he was 12 years old, Steve performed in the Church Choir since the age of 8 which lead to his love for singing. One of his greatest influences was his Mother who was also the Choir Mother and an accomplished classically trained pianist. Steve’s Mother saw his attraction to music early on while he was watching cartoons and she noticed he was keeping the beat to the music and humming along with the various themes. It was then she started him with piano lessons learning the Classics and then moving to Jazz after which he got the bug for Rock ‘n Roll and fine tuned his ear for music by picking out chord structures to songs from various artists’ recordings.
Steve also participated in Junior/High School singing groups in addition to multiple bands including “The Grease Band” which performed oldies in the tri-state area with great success! It was during that time that he began writing his own material and became involved with many original bands one named “Hollywood Rock” which spouted many original recordings that caught the attention of Casablanca Records in California. As fate would have it, the band didn’t sign with the label but some of the band members became very successful in the recording industry.
The challenging club scene and Steve’s multiple attempts to “make it” in the music business led him to get a real job and with the advent of 3 children, he then became very successful in the sales game within the semi-conductor industry but kept music as a special love in his life.
Now retired from business, he has made music his main focus in life again by composing, recording and performing as much as he can. His original compositions are released on CDBaby’s, iTunes’ and Amazon’s sites and are featured as part of this web site.
